Dr. Kara O'Loughlin L.Ac.DTCM LM

Kara has been a Licensed Acupuncturist since 2007, completing her
academic training in Ireland and a clinical internship in Nanjing, China.
She later became a registered midwife in Ireland and, after relocating to
the United States, became a licensed midwife under the Medical Board of
California. In 2022, she completed her Doctor of Chinese Medicine degree at
Five Branches University.
With expertise in pain management, sports medicine, musculoskeletal
health, reproductive health and, integrative oncology, Kara brings a
clinical skillset that complements a chiropractic environment. She
specializes in treating chronic and acute pain conditions, soft-tissue
injuries, postural imbalances, and stress-related symptoms—using
acupuncture, manual techniques, and other evidence-informed modalities to
support recovery and wellness care programs.
Kara integrates the diagnostic principles of Chinese medicine with the
practical, hands-on experience gained through years of midwifery. Her
approach is collaborative, patient-centered, and results-focused, aimed
at improving mobility, reducing inflammation, enhancing functional
recovery, and supporting whole-body wellness. She is experienced in
co-treating complex cases and values clear communication within
multidisciplinary teams.
Outside the clinic, Kara enjoys spending time with her children at the
beach—paddle boarding and swimming. An avid runner, she finds her grounding
on forest trails with her dog, Mocha.
